Charlene Tassinari and Carly Potock have been building teams and businesses together since 2015.
Their partnership started at YouTube, where they founded the company's global brand strategy team for small-to-medium businesses, leading Google's efforts to activate a market that was growing rapidly on other platforms. Their programs unlocked millions of dollars in video revenue through custom workshops and industry events, including Google’s annual CMO Academy, hosted in partnership with Columbia Business School.
In 2018, they pivoted the team to solve a challenge facing marketers around the world. To truly unlock the power of video, more brands needed access to nimble, affordable video creative. In partnership with the YouTube Product team, they developed first-of-kind video production solutions for Google’s customers including Video Builder and formed new industry relationships to launch the YouTube Creative Directory.
In 2020, Charlene and Carly founded Canvas+Co to help more brands succeed in a video-first world. They remain trusted partners to some of the world’s top brands.
Charlene Tassinari, Co-Founder
As the former Head of Creative Solutions at Google/YouTube, Charlene drove the vision, development and go-to-market of creative resources for small-to-medium businesses. Charlene and her team built new-to-market video production solutions including YouTube ad products, an external creative partner ecosystem and an in-house video editing operation, enabling global access to affordable, nimble video creative.
Prior to this, Charlene led the Brand Evangelist & Executive Strategy team, accelerating revenue and C-level client relationships through YouTube Brand Workshops. She was responsible for brand workshop strategy, curriculum and managing operations of the global team based in San Francisco, New York City, Dublin, Sydney and Tokyo. Charlene spent an additional 8 years at Google managing partnerships with some of the world’s largest technology brands including Intel, Adobe and Lenovo.
Prior to her time at Google, Charlene spent 4 years in advertising sales in New York City supporting clients like Mars, Kraft, WWE, General Motors and Volvo.
Carly Potock, Co-Founder
As former Head of Creative Partnerships at Google/YouTube, Carly’s team built Google’s first ecosystem of affordable creative production partners for small-to-medium businesses. Her team oversaw the global go-to-market for Google’s in-house editing service, as well as launched a network of YouTube-trained video production houses called the YouTube Creative Directory, which includes industry innovators like VidMob, Genero, QuickFrame, and Animoto.
Prior to this, Carly spent 5 years as a trusted strategic partner to Google’s top clients/agencies. She was the co-founder and lead facilitator of YouTube's Brand Strategy Team, designing customized workshops for marketing executives to accelerate brand growth through video. She’s partnered with brands across the Food & Beverage, CPG, Retail, and Gaming industries including Mattel, Burger King, Subway, UNIQLO, Purple and Riot Games.
Prior to her time at Google, she worked in international marketing at Major League Baseball building the brand’s presence in Europe, Asia, and South America.
